Trump’s anti-Muslim remarks ‘divisive, stupid and wrong’: British PM

LONDON: Remarks by US presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Muslims were “divisive, stupid and wrong” British Prime Minister David Cameron told parliament on Wednesday.

“I think his remarks are divisive stupid and wrong and I think if he came to our country he would unite us all against him,” Cameron said when asked whether he supported a petition to ban Trump from entering Britain.

Earlier, on Sunday, Republican front-runner Donald Trump pushed against party leaders reportedly looking to block his path to the presidential nomination, saying they were “kidding themselves,” as rival Ted Cruz surged in polls.

The push to stop Trump comes as the billionaire real estate tycoon finds himself at the centre of a firestorm over his call to ban Muslims from entering the United States.
